The Mongan Method

"When you change the way you view birth, the way you birth will change."

Marie Mongan

What is HypnoBirthing --  The Mongan Method?

HynoBirthing is as much a philosophy as it is a technique. It is a rewarding, relaxing, stress-free method of birthing that is based on the belief that all babies should come into the world gently, in an atmosphere of calm and joy. HypnoBirthing is based on the belief that severe discomfort does not need to be a natural accompaniment of birthing when a woman is prepared and trusts her birthing body.

MY STORY
From a young age, I have been fascinated with birth. From watching Birth Day on TLC to Runway Moms on The Discovery Network, I was enamored by the truly incredible process of pregnancy and birth. I would sit and watch for hours, so enthralled by this miracle playing out on my tv screen.  In high school, I had the opportunity to watch The Business of Being Born and I quickly learned about so many of the misconceptions surrounding this incredible and transformative time in a woman's life. I dove into the books like Ina May Gatskins, Guide to Childbirth, connected with doulas and childbirth educators in my area and it was then that I realized I needed to be a part of the birthing community. I became passionate about educating women and their partners in the ways of gentle birthing. While attending my DONA doula training, I was introduced to HypnoBirthing. I was taken by the simplicity of the technique and the ways in which birthing can and should be gentle. HypnoBirthing offers an intuitive and practical method of birthing that works with mothers and their partners holistically. I try to live my life in such a way and I hope to journey with you as you try to live yours. As a Certified HypnoBirthing Educator, I feel confident that together women can claim and reclaim their birth.
